Too Many Mind …..
“Mind the sword. Mind the people watch. Mind the enemy. Too many mind ….. No mind.” ~Nobutada :The Last Samurai:
It’s been a while since here i sat
To write a word or two off pat
To post upon this wall right here
With rhyme so sweet upon your ear
Sabbatical is good for you
To rest the soul and clear the view
And to let you see with fresh eyes
Everything free of its disguise
It clears your mind and fills your heart
As if you’re making a fresh start
With clearer view to see ahead
And to free your mind of the dread
That coping with problems at hand
Is simpler than what you had planned
A mind free from stress and worry
Makes no mistakes in its hurry
To solve problems that seem pressing
Is easier without stressing
Time is not your enemy here
The foe here is a mind unclear
Cluttered by the everyday crap
An elegant and simple trap
To make you rush decisions here
This will make the path disappear
And your journey will slow right down
Because you’re stressed and wear a frown
Like looking in a muddy pond
You cannot see the path beyond
The muck that sits inside your mind
Will make solutions hard to find
The issues are not hard to solve
If you let all the clouds dissolve
Rest your mind and body and soul
Then reunite all as one whole
Clean and clear in purpose and goal
With wisdom now back in control
If you think I’m talking to you
On how to make a clearer view
Then my friend you have got that right
You’ve made a step to clearer sight
If to you it doesn’t apply
Then feel free to pass right on by
To some other words down below
In them is what you need to know
So now just to reiterate
What this poem is meant to state
Just before you go off half cocked
Make damn sure that the breech is locked
Your sight line now is clean and clear
And you aren’t reacting in fear
That you let your mind do it’s work
That your solution’s not “knee-jerk”
Reaction is for ducking things
And not a way of DOING things
Peace and Grace.
